ASTOVE'S REEFSCAPES - AN EXAMPLE FOR SEYCHELLES INCREDIBLE BIODIVERSITY
An overview of the different habitats we would observe during our expedition. While shallower reefs tend to get the most attention due to the ease of accessing them, the deeper reefs teemed with life and diversity.
SEAGIS TRANSECTMEASURE IN ACTION
We used the software TransectMeasure to analyse our benthic video footage. After formatting the files and extracting the targeted frames, each one was overlaid with a dynamic quadrat that allowed us to extract information on species abundance and diversity.
DEEPER REEFS OF SEYCHELLES - A FIELD GUIDE
My main project for 2020 was the creation of a benthic ID guide from our collected data around the Seychelles Outer Islands. In the end, I describe 188 different specimens and morphotypes that we observed on our dives.
